Job Description:

In addition to performing duties related to food preparation, this job also involves ensuring that the quality of food is maintained, and the presentation is appealing to customers. Stocking and sanitation cannot be overlooked in this role as it significantly contributes to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars as indicated in the production sheets.
• Maintains consistency in food preparation by following recipe instructions.
• Maintaining high standards of food quality and freshness involves not only proper labeling and rotating of food items, but also regular inspection and monitoring of the storage environment and conditions.
• Tracks the food stock and ensures timely restocking to avoid shortages.
• Arrives at the workplace punctually, appropriately attired, groomed and equipped to work; works as directed during all shifts and attends all required training and meetings.
• Provides outstanding customer service by addressing customers' needs quickly and efficiently and demonstrating persuasive selling abilities; responds to phone calls and pages in a courteous and timely manner.
• Boosts sales capacity by utilizing efficient and appropriate systems for storing, organizing, displacing, rotating, and marketing products.
• Conforms to established guidelines, such as those for Weights and Measures, hygiene, and safe job procedures.
• A vital part of the employee's role is to preserve and ensure the cleanliness of the working and shopping environment. They should also make sure that all equipment is kept clean and up to WFM's safety standards.
• Performs the designated tasks for the opening, mid, and closing shifts and ensures the precision of pricing and signage.
• It is imperative to immediately report any safety hazards and violations observed.
• Undertakes any supplementary obligations assigned by the leadership at the store, regional, or national level.

Desired Work Experiences:

• To be eligible for this job, candidates must have a minimum of six months and up to a year's worth of experience working in a retail industry.

The workplace environment may be noisy and dusty, so hearing and respiratory protection may be necessary:

• The applicant needs to possess the physical capability of hoisting a 50-pound weight.
• It is necessary to stand or walk for 6-8 hours within an 8-hour work day, depending on the job.
• Hand use is a diverse and complex range of actions that encompasses everything from holding and manipulating small objects to exerting force in either a pushing or pulling motion.
• To effectively perform work, one must engage in various physical actions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Experiencing exposure to cleaning products authorized by the FDA.
• The freezing point of water is equivalent to 32 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the lowest temperature at which water can exist in liquid form.
• Skillfulness in adapting to work efficiently in any climate, be it wet or dry.
• The ability to perform job duties during unconventional hours, including late nights, weekends, and holiday periods.
• Experienced in managing tools and equipment operations, including the usage of knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
• The use of ladders may be necessary for completion.
