Job Description:

The most crucial requirement for this job is the ability to provide courteous and friendly service to both customers and team members. This attitude must be maintained at all times to ensure a positive image for the Whole Foods Market brand.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes production sheets to create food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars.
• Ensures the quality of food products by strictly adhering to recipe instructions.
• To ensure that all prepared items are fresh and of high quality, it is imperative that they are properly labeled, covered, and rotated on a regular basis.
• Maintains an inventory of food supplies and ensures they are refilled in a timely fashion.
• Comes to work station on time, properly dressed, groomed and ready to work; handles all scheduled shifts and attends all mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Delivers exceptional customer service by catering to the specific needs of clients promptly and efficiently, and modeling suggestive selling techniques; answers phone calls and pages courteously and expeditiously.
• Maximizes profit potential through effective and correct procedures for preparing, housing, promoting and selling products.
• Abides by predetermined rules, such as Weights and Measures, sanitation, and occupational safety protocols, to ensure compliance.
• The responsibility of keeping a clean and sanitary workplace and shopping area falls on the employee. They must maintain all equipment as per WFM's safety and cleanliness requirements and keep the walk-ins and freezers tidy and in order.
• Handles the assigned opening, mid, and closing dutifully, while also verifying the validity of pricing and signs.
• Swift action is necessary in relaying safety risks and infractions.
• Handles any extra responsibilities given by the store, regional, or national leadership.

Desired Work Experiences:

• The position demands that the candidate must possess between six to twelve months of experience in the retail sector.

The job may require prolonged exposure to temperature extremes, so appropriate protective clothing should be worn:

• The role requires the potential employee to be able to lift a mass of 50 pounds.
• Those who work for 8 hours each day may need to spend 6-8 hours standing or walking, depending on their occupation.
• From grasping and manipulating small items to pushing and pulling larger objects, our hands play a critical role in our ability to interact with our environment.
• A key component of work involves engaging in bodily movements such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching which play an important role in achieving desired outcomes.
• Involvement with FDA-certified cleaning substances.
• Refrigerators use a thermostat to regulate their internal temperatures within the recommended range of 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Aptitude for working comfortably in both wet and dry settings.
• Aptitude to work on a flexible schedule that involves working during weekends, holidays, and evenings when required.
• Knowledgeable in handling various types of tools and equipment, such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• Ladders may be needed for this job.
